THINGS TO KNOW:

Kitty Campbell is an intrepid, lock-picking, crime-solving botanical archaeologist.

Her very best friend, Amanda Fitzherbert, has come into some money suddenly and splurges on the ultimate girls trip: a ride on the Orient Express from Paris to Budapest, and she's taking Kitty along for some much-needed R & R. But when she discovers that another guest on-board is an unwelcome old acquaintance, and THEN finds a dead body frozen in the ice and snow? Things go off the rails.

Earn clues as you sew each monthly quilt block, and assemble the quilt to catch the killer and solve the case with Kitty.

Along the way, you'll learn new skills or polish up familiar ones, work with beautiful fabrics, and create a showstopper of a quilt! A few points and reminders about how things will work in 2026:

Chapters + Patterns

Quilters receive a new chapter and a new block pattern on the second Wednesday of every month. You'll get an email with a direct link to the new content, so you can download directly to your device or printer. All chapters and patterns remain archived here on the group site so you can re-download as often as necessary! At the end of your subscription for 2026, you'll be able to access all the files right here on the site, permanently.

Bonus Clues

Posting an image of your completed block to social media earns you a monthly bonus clue! Join our private Facebook group (available in mid-November) to post images and become part of the community, or use #murdermysteryquilt2026 on Instagram.

Please note: each month, blocks must post BEFORE the next block releases to earn the next clue. The deadline for the block to be posted will be included in your monthly email as a reminder.

Prize Baskets

There are TWO prize baskets at the end of the year: one for everyone who successfully guesses the killer and another for everyone who completes all the blocks. Everyone has a chance to win! After the quilt blocks are completely sewn, all quilters who have posted every block will have their names put in a basket; a winner will be drawn to receive a prize basket from our wonderful sponsors. At the same time, every quilter who correctly uses their one guess to name the killer will also have their name placed in a separate drawing for a second prize basket. Please note: if the same name is drawn for both prize baskets, an alternate name will be drawn for the second prize--we want to share the wealth with as many winners as we can!

Making Your Guess

You get ONE official guess about who the killer is. Should you figure it out early, you get an extra entry into the prize giveaway for every month before December that you entered your correct guess (so a correct guess in June earns you SEVEN entries into the giveaway, but a correct guess in November earns two). All guesses must be submitted before the clock strikes midnight on December 31, 2026 (Eastern Standard Time). A data collator will be posted to easily submit your guess online no later than October 1, 2026--if you'd like to make your guess earlier than that, simply email Deborah and she'll get you squared away!

Also, if you've requested membership in the Facebook group and not been approved, it may be because your name on FB doesn't match your PayPal name (some of you have spouse's names or company names on PayPal, and I can't tell who you are!).
